According to the decision of the Academic Council of Odessa National Maritime University from 28.02.2018, the employee of the Ministry of Justice of the federal state of Lower Saxony (FRG), Erich Marks was awarded the title "Honorary Professor of the ONMU".

Brief biography of Eric Marks (born 1954).

Erich Marks is an educationalist and works in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice as director of the Council for Crime Prevention. He has worked for many years, especially in the field of prevention at national and international level. Erich Marks is among others managing director of the German Congress on Crime Prevention (GCOCP), Vice President of the International Centre for the Prevention of Crime (ICPC), Vice President of the European Forum for Urban Security (EFUS) and chairman of the foundation Pro Child.

Erich Marks was born in 1954 in Bielefeld, Germany. He studied Educational Theory, Philosophy and Psychology at the University of Bielefeld with a scholarship of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. In 1980 he graduated in Educational Theory and attained the academic title of Diplompädagoge.

WUT International Young Scholars Forum aims at gathering outstanding scholars from home and abroad in Wuhan the River City to promote exchange between talented young scholars and cooperation between different fields of research and actively implement the strategy of constructing the world first-class disciplines and first-class university. The organizer of the forum is Wuhan University of Technology.

July the 4, 2017 the Odessa National Maritime University had taken place a reception delegation of Science and Technology Department of Hubei Province, People’s Republic of China, consisting of: Du Yun, Deputy Director-General, Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Department; Li Gangyan, Professor, School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, Wuhan University of Technology (Wuhan ); Hu Donghong, Associate Professor, School of Physics and Electronic Technology, Hubei University; Cheng Jinliang, Director, Macheng Science and Technology Bureau; Wang Shichao, Professor, School of Transportation, Wuhan University of Technology; Yu Xiang, Chief Staff Member, International Cooperation Division, Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Department; Zhang Wenzhong, General Manager, Hubei Taihe Petrochemical Equipment Co.,Ltd; Zhu Yun, General Manager, Wuhan Jiyuan Technology Service Co., Ltd.

During the visit were discussing series of questions about cooperation between Odessa National Maritime University and Science and Technology Department of Hubei Province KNR, and also the main areas of cooperation in the field of education and science with the Wuhan University of Technology were identified.

Odessa National Maritime University together with Missouri Southern State University offers the opportunity to study under MSSU programs in the US or in ONMU.

On the basis of the signed Memorandum between the University and the MSSU since 2014 ONMU's students have been training and successfully receiving diplomas of the MSSU. Students who have a bachelor's, specialist or master's degree (for any specialty), as well as students of the 4th courses, who will receive a diploma of ONMU in the summer are invited for training.

Students will receive a bachelor's or master's degree in MSSU in case of successful completion of the training (depending on the selected programs).
