Lithuanian Maritime Academy (LMA)


Lithuanian Maritime Academy (LMA) is a modern leader training maritime professionals for our and international maritime sector and a member of the global maritime and academic community. This constantly improving institution trains highly qualified specialists that meet international standards for the sea and ports in Lithuania and the world. The maritime academy that everyone knows and recognizes is at the same time always changing, offering numerous maritime study programmes, scientific and cultural ideas and projects. Initiative, innovations, openness, maritime culture and traditions – these are the major characteristics of the modern-day activity.

Our major goals in the field of studies and training is quality and being exceptional – meeting the requirements of the conventions of the International Maritime Organisation, which regulates seamen’s training. Traditional good training programmes, highly qualified lecturers and classes are not enough to ensure modern study quality. The quality of studies today is identified with the development of the studies, diversity, international context, cooperation with the world of work and... convenient classes, equipped with modern technology. Discussions between students and lecturers take place not only at the auditoriums, but also places of future employment, companies and ‘clouds’.

Lodz University of Technology (TUL)


Lodz University of Technology (TUL) is one of the best universities of technology in Poland. TUL has over 75 years of tradition and experience in educating engineers. Teaching is delivered at nine faculties. There are many extra organizational units on the campus, including venues for inter-departmental education (International Faculty of Engineering, Interdisciplinary Doctoral School), sports and recreation, entertainment and a variety of organizations enriching student life.

Lodz University of Technology has obtained two ABET accreditations for Information Technology and Computer Science programs conducted in English and 25 EUR-ACE ® program accreditations (EUR-ACE Bachelor Label and EUR-ACE Master Label). TUL has also undergone an international institutional evaluation under the EUA Institutional Evaluation Program and may use the EUA - IEP quality label recognized throughout Europe. In 2020, TUL was the first university in Poland to be granted international accreditation by the French accreditation body HCERES for the period of five years.

West Attica (UNIWA)


The University of West Attica (UNIWA) was founded in March 2018 by the National Law 4521. The foundation of the newly established University resulted from the merging process of the former Technological Educational Institute of Athens and the Piraeus University of Applied Sciences.

UNIWA is a dynamic and constantly evolving institution that strives to fulfill its vision and mission, and to achieve its goals investing in the development of modern teaching methods, adapted to students’ needs and responsive to competitive labor market and society requirements, as well as in its modern facilities and infrastructure (i.e., teaching resources, classrooms, laboratories/workshops, scientific equipment).

Our University offers contemporary Undergraduate and Postgraduate study programs, which give our graduates the opportunity to acquire specialized scientific knowledge, skills and competences, linking academia to both society and the labor market.

At UNIWA, there are twenty-seven Departments operating under the academic umbrella of five Schools, covering a wide range of scientific fields, such as social, administrative and economic sciences, engineering sciences, health and welfare sciences, as well as food sciences and applied art and culture studies.

According to official data, UNIWA is the third largest university in the country with regard to the number of undergraduate students whereas it hosts over 57,800 students in total. The University employs, on permanent basis, 608 faculty members, 138 special laboratory teaching and technical staff members, and 345 administrative staff members qualified to accomplish its high-standard teaching, research and administrative goals.

The National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA)


The National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA), established in 1991 as a school of governance and training of professionals for essential social areas, is a landmark in the Romanian academic setting.

Known both nationally and internationally, SNSPA is a state institution of higher education, scientific research and professional academic training offering undergraduate degrees, master’s degrees and doctoral studies. SNSPA trains and develops professional competencies in Political Sciences, Sociology, Administrative Studies, International Relations, Diplomacy, European Studies, Communication Sciences, Psychology, Management, Human Resources, thus contributing to change at national and international level, a change based on democratic values and principles.

“Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati


“Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati is the most important institution of higher education in the South-East of Romania.

The University of Messina (UniME)


The University of Messina is one of the oldest universities in Italy. It was founded by the Jesuits in 1548. Although it has ancient origins, it is a University in continuous growth. The University is one of the main reference points for the city of Messina, the 13th largest city in Italy, known as the “gateway to Sicily”. UniME has a strong international component, with agreements with universities from all over the world. Exchange programmes, double-degree and joint-degree programmes are all part of the international opportunities available to students. Because of the ECTS system students may earn credits and take exams while they are studying abroad.

In 2019, ONMU and the Polonius Academy in Czestochowa (Poland) signed a framework agreement on cooperation.

In September 2021, the agreement was expanded with an agreement on cooperation on the 2 Diploma program for bachelors of ONMU specialties in Philology and Law.

The program provides for education at the Polonia Academy every April of the first, second and third years of study. In addition, a feature of this program is participation in an internship under the Erasmus + program.

Cost of education:
Registration fee - 100 euros (one time upon admission to the academy);
Education - 400 euros per year of study or 200 euros at the beginning of each semester (October, February).
The Academy offers student accommodation on the Academy's student campus. The cost of living is 30 PLN / day. 20 PLN / day is the recommended amount for meals.

The International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU: ai-ei-em-ju:) is the global network of leading maritime universities (65) and The Nippon Foundation providing Maritime Education and Training of seafarers for the global shipping industry.

    All members of IAMU share the understanding:
  • that globalization has been progressing rapidly in the international shipping arena;
  • that Safety, Security and Environmental Protection are crucial issues for the maritime sector; and
  • that passing on maritime skills and knowledge to the following generations needs to be achieved on a global scale.
    All members of IAMU also recognize the significance of maritime education and training and note that:
  • the shipping industry is a service industry, in which human resources are the critical element;
  • it is only feasible to secure and to preserve highly qualified human resources in the maritime industries through effective education and training; and
  • effective education and training in the maritime sector derives from scientific and academic rigor and development of a clear link between practical skills, management techniques and a focus on quality

Research Projects

The research project system has been renewed for 1 April 2018 by launching a new research project system in order to sustain IAMU activities by passing on maritime knowledge and skills to subsequent generations among IAMU member universities. To obtain these goals, the IAMU research project system is divided into two frameworks: one for all academic staff and another only for young academic staff.

Referees system

Since FY2010, the IAMU has launched a research project system (supported by The Nippon Foundation) to bring about further progress in capacity building among the IAMU member universities. Accordingly, the evaluation system for IAMU research projects including evaluation of research proposals, costs and selection of referees has been discussed in the International Executive Board (IEB) meetings since FY2016. In accordance with the following criteria, the system has more than 150 referees.

    Each referee for evaluation of research proposals or final reports shall:
  • Be a senior academic staff member or an early career researcher* nominated by the President/Representative of the member university to which the referee belongs; and
  • Have a record of at least three (3) international research publications (editorial contributions are also preferred).
    *An early career researcher is deemed to be one who has:
  • Been awarded a PhD within the preceding 10 years
  • An established record of journal publications (with preference to international publications); and
  • A full-time academic position with both teaching and research responsibilities.

The rector of ONMU Sergey RUDENKO signed an agreement with the ANTALYA ACADEMY OF TOURISM, Republic of Turkey about the “Program ‘2 Diplomas’ in the specialty ‘Hotel Management’” in the summer of 2020.

Program ‘2 Diplomas’ ONMU-ATA Bachelor’s degree in the specialty ‘Hotel Management’” is intended for students of ONMU who are fluent in English and prefer to become professionals in the tourism and hospitality field. There is an internship in Turkey hotels that can last up to 5 months, and it is paid. Accommodation and meals are paid by the employer.

Education in English and Russian. Study lasts 3 years.
